Homeschooling through the teenage/high school years offers several different challenges. You may need to meet specific requirements and you may find that you are teaching subjects with which you are not familiar. In addition, many parents don’t begin homeschooling until their child reaches high school age. To help navigate this sometimes new territory, we’ve put together helpful resources to help both parent and student successfully homeschool during the high school years.
Can unschoolers be successful at life? This article details the results of some surveys of unschoolers, from the parents to those children who were unschooled themselves. Successes include the overwhelming positive response from unschoolers who were happy with their educations, and the 83% of respondents who had gone on to pursue higher education. The conclusion is that unschooling can work if the whole family are invested and with some social connection to the broader world.
